Reports to: News Production Manager
PURPOSE/REASON FOR THE POSITION: The primary responsibility of the Production Technician is to direct and technical direct newscasts, run audio; operate CHYRON and other production duties as assigned.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB: 1. Direct or Technical Direct clean newscasts 2. Ability to run audio for any newscast 3. Operate CHYRON Duet for any assigned newscast 4. Assist other directors in pre-production for any newscast 5. Interact and work as a team with News, Graphics and News Production. 6. Support the Sr. Director and Production Tech Supervisor with long-term news production projects 7. Oversee episodic production as requested
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Must be able to direct newscasts and run audio and/or CHYRON for any and all newscasts. Must be able to be trained on a non-linear editing system, like Final Cut Pro. Must be flexible with regard to working hours, able to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Must possess the dexterity to operate typewriter, computer, editing systems and other such equipment.
