Ted Alexander
Ted Alexander was born and raised in Darien, Connecticut. Listening to the best of New York City radio motivated him to be a disk jockey.
After graduating from Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia, Ted worked at radio stations in Wheeling, WV, Morgantown, WV, Augusta, GA and Frederick, MD.
In December of 1991 he jumped to television fulltime as Sports Director at WHAG-TV in Hagerstown, MD. He moved to WRDW-TV in Augusta in 1995. While in Augusta, he covered Tiger Woods' first Masters and actually played Augusta National several times.
Ted came to WTKR-TV in August of 1996 as the weekend sports anchor. He moved up to Sports Director in 1998. Covering everything from high school and Old Dominion to NASCAR and the Tides was a thrill that was capped off with a trip to New Orleans for the 2000 Sugar Bowl national championship between Virginia Tech and Florida State.
In 2001 Ted began working for the Court TV Show "Forensic Files". He was a writer/producer for four episodes that took him from Maryland's eastern shore to San Diego, CA. Ted returned to WTKR-TV in 2002 as Sports Director and host of the high school football "Locker Room" show. The show has won numerous awards including an EMMY.
In May of 2005 Ted returned to radio fulltime as morning host at WWDE-FM in Norfolk. Believing the "third time's the charm" Ted came back to WTKR-TV in August of 2007 as a general assignment reporter. He loves telling stories of real people involved in some unreal situations. He is also the radio voice for the Old Dominion University Men's basketball team.
Ted lives in Chesapeake with his wife, two daughters and a cat named Mickey. In his spare time Ted enjoys playing golf, tennis, watching movies, lounging around the pool and goofing around with all the girls in my house.
