A Pennsylvania university is providing easy access to the morning-after pill through vending machines. Students at Shippensburg University can now walk into a room inside the health center and get Plan-B, the emergency contraceptive, from a vending machine. A university doctor says making it available through a vending machine makes things a bit more comfortable for students. Dr. Serr says that somewhere between 350 and 400 doses are sold each year to the female population. Do you think the Plan-B pill should be available in vending machines? Post your 3 cents.
An organization of mothers is taking a stand against a partnership between JC Penney and Ellen DeGeneres. The retail giant brought the popular and openly homosexual talk show host on board last month. Ellen is the new spokesperson for JC Penney savings campaign. But the organization, One Million Moms, says that was a poor choice. It says because of Ellen's sexuality, JC Penney will lose sales because traditional families will no longer want to shop there. They also say JC Penney should fire Ellen and remain neutral in the culture war. Is Ellen a poor choice for a spokesperson because of her sexuality?
Something you may not expect to see at a public library - porn. One Seattle mother says not only did she see a man watching porn at her nearby library - her daughter saw it too. The library spokesperson says they don't filter content, unless it is in the Children's Section. They say filters compromise freedom of speech. Should porn be allowed at a public library? Some members of Congress want to get rid of dollar bills, for dollar coins. Senators John McCain and Tom Harkin want dollar bills to go away, in favor of the coin. The Senate introduced a bill yesterday mandating the Federal Reserve help people get used to coins. Some say bills wear out too fast and have to be replaced more often. The government accountability office says using coins would save more than $5 billion over 30 years. However, most Americans are against carrying around more change. Do you think we should give up dollar bills for coins?
A candidate for an Arizona City Council race was taken off the ballot - because her English was ruled 'not good enough' for office. Alejandrina Cabrera was running for office in the predominantly Latino town of San Luis. A judge made the ruling on her English and her bid for office was blocked by the mayor. He says under Arizona law, elected officials must be proficient in English. After a lengthy court hearing, Cabrera was disqualified from the race. The woman says she is taking her appeal all the way to the Arizona Supreme Court. Should this woman be allowed to hold a public office, despite her level of proficiency? Post your 3 cents.
If you cannot speak English, One should not be allowed to hold public office. PERIOD!

German researchers say women are better at parking a car than a man. After observing drivers on surveillance cameras, they concluded that women are better at finding spaces, lining up the car, and backing into spaces the way instructors encourage drivers to do. However, men were better at just pulling straight in. And they were less likely to back in and out to make sure they're perfectly aligned. Overall, women do better. So, who parks better? Post your 3 cents.
Men have overall better skills. Men have better depth and distance perception and can parallel park better. Men are just as good if not better at finding spaces, too. Overall, from what I've seen, women are not better. They're too busy yakking on a cell phone while driving. Men are better!

I think we expect men to park better no question.(old school saying)

People who receive welfare in VA may soon have to undergo drug testing. It's something many states, including NC, have considered. Virginia State Delegate Dickie Bell is one lawmaker pushing the bill. It would require drug testing for welfare recipients to determine whether they use illegal drugs. But some of his fellow lawmakers disagree with him. According to a fiscal report, each drug test would cost $350 - however, lawmakers proposing similar legislation believe costs could be as low as $25 per test. Do you think welfare recipients should have to take drug tests? Post your 3 cents.
A Minnesota school district is shelving spring break in exchange for longer weekends. Traditionally, spring break is an entire week. School officials are asking families in an online survey if they want to shorten their winter and spring breaks in favor of starting school later in the fall or ending earlier in the spring. Would you want to have shorter breaks during the school year to start later in the fall, or end earlier in the spring? Post your 3 cents.
One Virginia lawmaker wants to make it a crime for you to eat and drive. Delegate Bobby Orrock proposed a bill that would make it illegal for drivers to do anything distracting while driving. That includes talking on cell phones, putting on makeup, and using any type of technical device. The delegate says the bill is an attempt to keep people focused and possibly save lives. Do you think drivers are too distracted and these things should be outlawed? Post Your 3 Cents.
Lets just take horses and buggys just like the good ole days...

Everything that distracts from driving should be outlawed, i have seen to many inocent people die because of a driver not paying attention to the road. How can someone live with theirselves if they killed another person because of a big mack.

A new line of Legos for girls is on the market - but not everyone thinks they're a good thing. The new toys are called, "Lego Friends". The 'girl' Lego action figures wear stylish clothes and do everything from hang clothes in their homes to run small businesses. But the line has triggered criticism from groups who say it contributes to gender stereotypes. And the National Association for Eating Disorder Professionals says the toys send a message that being pretty is more important than who you are or what you do. Lego says, "We want to correct any misinterpretation that Lego Friends is our only offering for girls. This is by no means the case. We know that many girls love to build and play with a wide variety of Lego products already available." Do you think the Legos are sexist? Post your 3 cents.
