Police continue to search for a suspect in a morning carjacking and kidnapping in Virginia Beach. 1 ½ year old Neomi Hilel was found outside the Point Plaza Hotel in Newport News unharmed.
Two women checking out of the hotel found the little girl wandering around the parking lot and brought her to the front desk.
Earlier in the morning Neomi's mother was at a gas pump at the 7-11 store on Witchduck Rd. in Virginia Beach when a man pushed her out of the way and took off with the dark grey-green Honda Odyssey. Neomi was still strapped into her car seat.
The suspect struggled with her as she held onto the door of the van as he drove off. The mother eventually was thrown from the door and received lacerations to her head and arms.
Police are still searching for suspect Matthew R Nash. Nash is a white male, 24, 5 feet 11 inches, 200 lbs with hazel eyes and long brown hair wearing a white, blue, and grey plaid shirt, dark shorts, tennis shoes and a ballcap.
Nash is believed to still be driving the stolen dark grey-green Honda Odyssey. The minivan has a Florida license plate 'HASHEM1'
Warrants for Carjacking and Abduction are on file for Nash.
