Anti-Semitic graffiti was found spray painted at the United Jewish Community Center on Spring Road in Newport News on Thursday. Police found swastikas and other anti-Semitic graffiti on a window, a trailer and a port-a-potty.
According to surveillance video, it appears as though four suspects dressed in white or light colored clothing entered the property and painted the graffiti between 4:20 and 4:40 A.M.
Police note this same location was the victim of a similar incident in October of 2008. The person prosecuted for that incident has been eliminated as a suspect in the new graffiti.
Police have not identified the suspects in this case and are asking for the public's assistance. Anyone with information on the identity of the persons responsible is asked to call Newport News Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP. Crime Line callers may remain totally anonymous, are never required to testify in court and could be eligible for a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest.
