A construction worker was killed at a new housing development in Newport News this morning when he was crushed by a front end loader.
The accident happened off Eastwood drive on the north side of the city.
The victim, 34-year-old Kirk Giezey was pronounced dead at the scene moments after the accident.
Police say Geizey who worked for EW Muller contractors was riding in the scoop of a front end loader that was being driving by another worker.
At some point he fell out of the scoop, and was run over.
It happened this morning around 11am at a new housing development off Eastwood Drive.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration will be investigating the accident.
