A Norfolk funeral home will be closed until at least March 8th.

Carlos Howard of Carlos Howard Funeral Homes was in court Friday trying to get an injunction to stay open, but a judge said no.

Howard tells NewsChannel 3 because of that, he had to let 12 employees go.

Howard’s license was suspended last week after authorities say he improperly prepared a body and sent it to a funeral home in Philadelphia.

Howard says the claims are false.

The funeral home must stay closed until a hearing before the Virginia Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers.

That hearing is March 8th.
