SUFFOLK, Va. - A 20-year-old Suffolk woman has been charged with four felony charges after allegedly intentionally striking someone with her vehicle in a cemetery yesterday and fleeing the scene.
Patricia Ann Devine, of the 900 block of Manning Road, was charged with unlawful wounding, hit and run felony, and two counts of child endangerment after an altercation in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
According to the victim, Kassie Haines, age 19, she was cutting through the cemetery with friends, when Devine pulled into the cemetery, struck her with her vehicle and fled the scene. Haines was transported to Sentara Obici Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Devine was located by police at her residence in the 900 block of Manning Road.
An investigation revealed that the suspect's 13-month-old son and a relative under the age of 3 were in the vehicle at the time of the incident. The victim in the case previously dated the father of Devine's child.
Devine was transported to Western Tidewater Regional Jail last night. She was released on $3,000 bond.
