In May NewsChannel 3 told you how a crash wiped out the bookmobile of Northeastern North Carolina.

Pasquotank County didn't have the money to get it fixed but NewsChannel 3 took action and contacted Virginia Beach which happened to have an old book mobile. The city had no problem donating it to Pasquotank County.

Today the city delivered on its promise and drove the bookmobile down to the waiting crowd in Elizabeth City.

During the presentation Pasquotank County honored NewsChannel 3 for helping to get results.

"Thank Bob Matthews and NewsChannel 3 for taking action."

The bookmobile from Virginia Beach had been sitting in the city garage for a few years but today some young kids were able to take a tour of their new bookmobile. The librarian and bookmobile driver say they can't wait to get it back on the road.

"We're so grateful to Virginia Beach so we can get back into the business of mobile services."

The bookmobile makes more than 80 visits a month bringing books to seniors, daycares, and home-schooled students. The library expects to bookmobile to hit the road in the next few weeks.
