A Granby High School teacher has been arrested on charges of downloading child pornography on his home computer. According to a spokesperson from the U.S Attorney's Office, 50 year-old Shon M. Walter, was served with an arrest warrant on April 3.
The 10-count indictment alleges that on five occasions in 2005 and once in 2008 Walter downloaded child pornography images. The indictment further alleges that at least one image portrayed violent sex with a 10-year-old girl.
In court today, Walter decided to forego possible bond and agreed to remain in jail, per the state's request. The computer technology teacher is currently on leave from Granby High School without pay.
He's due back in court next week.
