Norfolk police are currently working a motor vehicle accident with injuries involving an HRT bus and 2 other vehicles. The accident occured around 2:45pm in the 5800 block of East Virginia Beach Blvd.
The HRT bus was traveling westbound on East Virginia Beach Blvd, attempting to make a left turn into the Gallery at Military Circle Mall. According to witnesses, the HRT bus had the green light and was struck by a silver Dodge Minivan that was traveling eastbound. The minivan flipped upside down coming to a rest on the roof after striking a silver Toyota 2 door sedan.
The single occupant of the minivan was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Four other people were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The accident is under investigation. No charges have been filed yet.
