It's military appreciation day in Virginia Beach, and Geico invited a few hundred of their military friends and family to join the party.

Today is extra special because this is the tenth year that the company sponsored the event.

NewsChannel 3's Barbara Ciara served as the Mistress of Ceremonies at the Beach Convention Center.

Also offering a salute, the Salem High School NJROTC was in charge of presenting the colors.

The free lunch and recognition honors were hosted by Geico Insurance as a way to honor military families and their sacrifices.

When the insurance company started out ten years ago, it was a cook-out, and now it has grown to serve nearly 600 military men and women and their families.

Every branch of the military was represented and honored at today's luncheon.
