One of the suspects in the Bayport Credit Union robbery has been arrested. David J. Whitaker, 19 years old, of the 200 block of Hospital Street in Richmond, Virginia has been charged with two counts of robbery, 10 counts of conspiracy to commit robbery, nine counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, 7 counts of abduction, and wearing a mask in public.

At about 11:40 a.m. Friday morning, two men wearing masks entered the Bayport Credit Union at 80th Street and Marshall Avenue. One suspect was armed with what appeared to be a handgun. The suspects approached a teller, demanding money. The teller handed them an undisclosed amount of cash, and the suspects left the bank on foot traveling east on 81st Street toward the city of Hampton.
