Newport News man charged with 20 counts of possessing child pornography

On June 13, 2009, a local computer business contacted the Newport News police department in reference to two computers that were brought in for repairs and appeared to have child pornography on them. The computers were seized and a forensic analysis of the computer's hard drives was conducted. The analysis revealed over 200 images of child pornography on the two computers and that Marvin Villacorta was the owner of the computers.

Marvin Villacorta, 31-years-old of the 13200 block of Chester Lane in Newport News, was arrested at police headquarterson on Tuesday. He has been charged with 20 counts of possessing child pornography.

Villacorta was placed in the custody of the Newport News City Jail. Questions pertaining to his custody, bond status, and court appearances should be directed to the Newport News sheriff's office.
