Suffolk, Va. - Two people are recovering this afternoon after an early morning fire in Suffolk.
The fire started in a duplex on Henry Street
Suffolk police say a neighbor on the back side of that duplex was taken to the hospital for a burned hand and breathing in too much smoke.
Debra Hall, who lives in the other unit, had to act quickly to save herself, her family, and her birds.
Debra and her family got out safely, but the fire did shut down East Constance road.
One firefighter was treated at the scene and released.
