They sang songs, read bible verses, and prayed near the crash site on West Constance Road.

Betty lived in the nearby Chorey Park Apartments and went to the plaza west shopping center daily.

One of her nurses, Jacqueline Boone, had just taken a break before she was hit on friday.

"To know that she is gone, i won't be seeing her every day like i was, and it just, i can't even describe it. It hurts."

Family and friends hope the city puts a stop light up at the crosswalk.

So far, no charges have been filed against the driver.
