Three people have been injured in a small plane crash in South Carolina.

According to the head of the airport in Greenville, an eleven passenger plane took off this morning with the pilot and two technicians on board.

The technicians were trying to figure out what was wrong with the plane. It was being prepped for repairs. The planes records show it is owned by a company called MDTR holdings. It's address is listed in the offices of ECPI technical college.

ECPI has campuses not just in Virginia Beach but also in North and South Carolina, including one in Greenville}

ECPI officials say the plane has nothing to do with the school but would not comment on whether anyone affiliated with the college was also connected with the company that owns the plane.

An FAAQ spokesman says the twin engine turbo prop was practicing landings when crashed just short of a runway at Greenville Spartenburg International Airport. The plane hit a guard rail.

Witnesses say they were amazed the plane didn't explode when it hit the ground. FAA officials say they are looking into the possibility that the plane ran out of fuel, causing it to crash.

The two technicians were taken to a hospital and should be okay. There is no official word on the pilot and the National Transportation Safety Board is on the scene trying to figure out exactly what happened.
