The Virginia Beach Department of Public Health (VBDPH) will host a flu vaccination clinic at Larkspur Middle School,
4696 Princess Anne Rd. this Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. VBDPH nurses will administer H1N1 flu vaccines
free of charge to children who attend private schools, child care centers, those who are homeschooled, and students
who attend a higher education institution.
Vaccine supply is limited. Individuals will receive the vaccine on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that individuals between 6 months and 24 years old receive an H1N1 vaccination because the virus spreads quickly in school and child care settings, and often affects young, healthy adults.
The latest local H1N1 information can be found at www.HealthyVB.com. Times and dates of VBDPH vaccination clinics will be updated regularly. Additional information can be found at www.flu.gov.
Individuals with questions pertaining to the vaccination clinics can call the VBDPH at 518-2700 weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
