Norfolk man arrested for stabbing three in Virginia Beach

A Norfolk man has been arrested for stabbing three people in Virginia Beach, and killing one of them.

On Sunday, May 6, 2012, at approximately 3:15 a.m., Virginia Beach dispatchers received a call for a male who had been stabbed in the Way Point Apartments complex.

When police and rescue personnel arrived in the 5100 block of Venture Court, they found three male victims on the sidewalk suffering from stab wounds.

The victims were immediately transported to Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital where one of the victims was pronounced dead. A second victim is listed in critical but stable condition, and the third victim has been treated and released.

The deceased victim has been identified as Joseph Brinkos, 20, of the 600 block of W. 36th Street, Norfolk.

The investigation revealed a verbal argument ensued between the suspect and the three victims. The argument turned into a physical altercation and the victims were stabbed with a knife.

The suspect was arrested without incident several hours later. The suspect suffered minor injuries.

The suspect has been identified as Joshua Daniel Campbell, 28, of the 1300 block of Balview Avenue, Norfolk.

Campbell is charged with Second Degree Murder, One count of Aggravated Assault, and One count of Malicious Assault. He is currently being held without bond in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center.

This case remains under investigation.
