Hampton, Va. – A woman is in the hospital after being shot in Hampton on New Year’s Eve.
The woman was shot around 11:13pm in the first block of Phelps Circle, according to police.
She was transported to a local hospital where she remains.
A suspect who police say was known to her remained at the scene and was taken into custody without incident.
