Masked men rob Newport News Family Dollar store at gunpoint

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Police need your help finding two men who robbed the Family Dollar store on 11712 Jefferson Avenue.

According to police, two masked men with guns came into the store on September 25 at 9:15 p.m.

During the robbery, one of the suspects ordered two male customers to empty their pockets and get on the floor. The suspect struck one of the men on the head with his gun. The second suspect forced a female employee to open the register. The robbers took personal items from employees and cash and cigarettes from the store.

The first suspect is described as a heavy-set, light-skinned black male, around 5' 7" to 5' 9". He was wearing a black ski mask, grey zip up jacket, grey shorts, grey leggings underneath his shorts and red and black gloves. He was armed with a black semi-automatic gun with a silver slide.

The second suspect is described as a thin, black male, about 5' 10" to 6' 1". He was wearing a black and red mask, a black zip up jacket with a grey hoodie underneath, black and white gloves and blue jeans with a center fade. He was armed with a black semi auto firearm and a mask.
