NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Crews responded to a house fire in the 900 block of Ivy Avenue on Wednesday.
A call came in around 4:33 a.m., for a fire that was contained to the kitchen.
Reports say a woman was transported for evaluation and sustained minor injuries after jumping off the roof to escape the fire.
No fire personnel were injured, reports confirm and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
