Navy Command Master Chief relieved of duty after being accused of fraternization

Master Chief Logistics Specialist Scott Splitgerber, U.S. Naval Reserve, was relieved Tuesday after receiving non-judicial punishment for fraternization and making a false official statement. He was assigned as the Command Master Chief of Navy Cargo Handling Battalion

The Navy says that they conducted an investigation into allegations of fraternization that were reported by a member of the command. Splitgerber will now drill with the 2nd Navy Expeditionary Logistics Regiment.

He is being replaced by Capt. Charles Rink, Commodore, 2nd (NELR), at Cheatham Annex, Va.,

Senior Chief Boatswain`s Mate Steve Turner, assigned to NCHB 4, will assume duties as the command`s acting Senior Enlisted Leader.

Turner is familiar with the current operations of NCHB 4 as well as the needs of the command and its Sailors.
