Several fire departments are working a brush fire in Windsor in the Route 460 are, near Old Suffolk Road near the border of Isle of Wight and Suffolk. The first call came in at 3:27 Sunday afternoon.
An alert was sent to residents in the area for a voluntary evacuation. They are asking residents who choose to evacuate to go to the Windsor Food Lion parking lot and meet with the Sheriff’s department, or if they have friends or family in the area, to stay with them.
Conditions are windy and dry and it is unknown how long it will be before the fire is able to be under control.
