Five kittens rescued in Suffolk house fire

Suffolk fire crews responded to a house fire in the 1800 block of Airport Road on Wednesday at 8:32 a.m.

When they arrived, they said smoke and fire were showing from the home and both occupants of the home were able to get out.

Five kittens were rescued.

The fire was declared under control at 8:52 a.m.

The majority of the damage to the home was in the kitchen area. Other parts were also damaged.

The structure is uninhabitable at this time.

Both of the occupants were checked by Paramedics at the scene and no one was transported.

The fire has been ruled accidental.

The residents have refused Red Cross assistance and will be staying with relatives.
