One person was thrown from a vehicle in a crash that occurred in Norfolk Friday morning.
Police say they approached a vehicle that had come to a stop at the intersection of Chesapeake Boulevard and Johnstons Road.
According to police, they observed him driving erratically.
While officers were engaged in a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle sped off, striking one of the officers.
The officer received minor injuries and was treated and released.
Police then pursued the driver northbound from the intersection of the 7400 block of Chesapeake Boulevard and Johnstons Road.
The driver then hit a curb and another vehicle in the intersection of the 8500 block of Chesapeake Boulevard and 1000 block of Fisherman Road.
The driver of the first vehicle was ejected and then transported by paramedics to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries.
