Indiana State Police are investigating gunfire reported Saturday that damaged property at the offices of WTWO, an NBC affiliate.
CBS Affiliate WISH reports the news station’s employees told police they believe they heard gunfire outside their building around 4:00 a.m. early Saturday morning.
According to a police press release, a search at that time did not reveal any damage, but as daylight arrived, employees discovered signs of multiple rounds having been fired through the front door glass of the station’s main entrance.
A company-owned vehicle and a privately-owned vehicle outside were also damaged.
There were no injuries reported.
Police are withholding the number of rounds fired and the caliber of the weapon as they continue their investigation. They are asking anyone with information to contact the Putnamville Post of the Indiana State Police at (765) 653-4114.
