Norfolk police have charged three male teenagers for their alleged role in an assault on two Virginian-Pilot reporters in mid April.
According to police, two of the teens are 16 years old and the other is 14. All three are charged with two counts of simple assault by mob and one count participation in a riot. They were released to their parents or guardians and are scheduled to be arraigned in Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on Monday. Police are not releasing their names because of their age.
The assault that they are charged with took place April 14 at the intersection of Brambleton Ave. and Church St., according to police. The two victims are reporters for the Virginian-Pilot. They were not working at the time of the assault.
Earlier this month, another teenager, 16, was arrested for his alleged role in the assault. He is facing two counts of simple assault by mob, one count participation in a riot and one count of vandalism.
