Suffolk police are looking for two suspects they say tried to steal an ATM machine at the Kangaroo Gas Station located at 819 West Washington Street.

Police say last Friday at 2:42 a.m., one of the suspects smashed the glass door with a baseball bat and tried to take the ATM machine. They were not able to get the machine, but they caused over $1,000 worth of damage to the store according to police.

Police say the suspects were both wearing masks, hoods, gloves and dark clothing. One of them may be a white male. Police also say they were driving a silver or white Dodge extended cab, short bed pickup truck that may be a 1994-2001 body style.

The offenders fled the scene in their vehicle traveling east on West Washington Street.
