Family speaks out about attack on Suffolk officer

Officer James Winslow’s family tells NewsChannel 3 that the officer is talking to his mother and wife but he is still in the trauma unit after he was beaten during a traffic stop over the weekend. His family also stated that they were thankful for everyone who took action to help save him. 

The Suffolk Police Officers Association,  Local 780, is setting up a fund for Suffolk Police Officer James Winslow at Monarch Bank,  located at 2999 Corporate Lane, Suffolk, Virginia, 23434. (757) 942-1325.  

Officer Winslow was critically injured in the line of duty on May 19, 2012.  He is currently in ICU at Sentara Norfolk Hospital.

Donations will be used to assist Officer Winslow and his family during what will be a long recovery.
