Chesapeake neighbors happy Beryl didn’t bring flooding

Drivers going through Volvo Parkway and Greenbrier Parkway drove through flooded streets on Wednesday after Beryl moved through the area.

Chesapeake crews cleared out gutters and flood-prone neighborhoods waited to see what the storm would bring.

David Kemper lives in Washington Manor. His backyard faces a creek.

Last year during Hurricane Irene, the water flooded his backyard.

He is hopeful the storm moves out quickly and doesn't cause any damage.

Kemper says, "We manage. We know how to drive down the road, and if we can't, we just stay home."
