An Army colonel at Fort Belvoir in northern Virgina is walking into a ground breaking role - on two prosthetic legs.

Colonel Greg Gadson is about to become the first double-amputee to command an Army post.

His inspiring career credentials include West Point football star, Legion of Merit award winner, and director of a program to help wounded warriors get on with life.

Colonel Gadson's legs were destroyed by a roadside bomb in 2007 while he was serving in Iraq.
