A soldier has died in Afghanistan while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
The Department of Defense says Sergeant Michael Ristau of Rockford, Illinois died Thursday.
Officials say the vehicle he was in was hit by a bomb.
The 25-year-old was stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state.
