Suffolk police have charged a North Carolina man with the production of child pornography.
According to police officials, police arrested 31-year-old Mark Tracy Baines, Jr., of the 1100 block of Drum Hill Road in Gates, North Carolina.
Police say Baines attempted to solicit what he believed to be a minor to pose nude for photographs and participate in sexual activities.
Baines claimed to be a part-time photographer operating under the name OBX HOTSHOTS and indicated he was looking for female models, police say.
Baines was arrested on July 18, 2012, on charges of Produce, Distribute, Finance Child Pornography and is currently being held without bond at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
Several computers were seized from Baines’ North Carolina home during a police search. Additional charges could be made.
