Chesapeake has announced available cooling centers due to the heat advisory today.
In response to the National Weather Service’s issuance of a Heat Advisory for today, July 24, 2012, the city of Chesapeake reminds residents needing a place to find cooling that the following facilities are available:
All City Library Branches Open today until 8:00 p.m.
All City Community Centers Open today until 8:00 p.m.
The above facilities provide air conditioning and water (drinking fountains); however, no additional special services are provided.
Residents with heat-related medical concerns should contact their family physician or, in the case of emergency, dial 9-1-1 for assistance.
Residents with questions may call the Customer Contact Center at 757-382-CITY during the hours of 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
