Cooling centers are available in Chesapeake for those who are in need.
In response to the National Weather Service’s issuance of a Heat Advisory for today, the City of Chesapeake reminds residents that facilities are available for cooling.
All city library branches are open today until 8:00 p.m. All city community centers are open today until 8:00 p.m.
The above facilities provide air conditioning, water, and drinking fountains; however, no additional special services are provided.
Residents with heat-related medical concerns should contact their family physician, or in the case of emergency, dial 911 for assistance.
Residents with questions may call the Customer Contact Center at 382-CITY during the hours of 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
