Sailors killed in Oman helicopter crash honored at memorial service

Folks gathered to honor two Norfolk-based sailors who were killed in a helicopter crash.

Their lives were celebrated at a memorial service at the chapel, located on base at Naval Station Norfolk.

Update: Defense Department identifies two Norfolk-based sailors killed in crash

Petty Officer 2nd Class Joseph Fitzmorris and Chief Petty Officer Sean Sullivan died when their Sea Dragon Helicopter crashed in Oman on July 19th.

Three people who were on the helicopter with Sullivan and Fitzmorris survived the crash.

The cause of the crash is still being investigated, but they have ruled out enemy gunfire as a cause.
