A vigil will be held Thursday night for Phoebus High School graduate Caitlin Kremp.

She died yesterday in a hiking accident.

We're learning the 18-year-old left her campsite early in the morning to watch the sunrise – that's according to our partners at the Daily Press.

When she didn't show back up, the rest of her group from VCU contacted rescue crews.

They found her body a few hours later. The sheriff's department says she fell from about 200 feet.

Kremp was the 2011 salutatorian at Phoebus High.

She was also the captain of the girls' soccer and field hockey team.

We're told she was a business major at VCU.

The vigil is scheduled for eight at the soccer field at Phoebus High.
