Three soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan, officials say.

According to NATO officials, a man wearing an Afghan military uniform opened fire on troops in Helmand Province.

Officials say three soldiers were killed.

Two other soldiers have also died in Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense says 35-year-old Major Thomas Kennedy of West Point, New York and Command Sergeant Major Kevin Griffin of Laramie, Wyoming died Wednesday in a suicide bomb attack.

Both soldiers were based at Fort Carson in Colorado.
