According to Portsmouth police, detectives are investigating a fatal shooting.
They say it occurred in the 200 block of Chowan Drive just after midnight.
They received a call about a gunshot victim.
The victim was taken to Maryview Hospital where he later died
His body was transported to the Norfolk Medical Examiners Office pending an autopsy.

Detectives discovered two black male suspects knocked on the door to the victims home. Once the door was opened, the deceased victim and another adult occupant were ordered at gunpoint to turn over money. During the robbery, the suspects fired several shots striking one of victims.
The deceased victim has been identified as 30 year-old, Scott Eugene Upshur, of the 200 block of Chowan Drive, Portsmouth.
The investigation is ongoing, when additional information is available, an update will follow.
