PORTSMOUTH, Va. — The Coast Guard medevaced a man from a fishing vessel about 45 miles northeast of Oregon Inlet, N.C. on Monday.

Crewmembers aboard the fishing vessel reported that a crewman was showing signs of heart problems.

The Coast Guard dispatched a crew aboard a 47-foot Motor Life Boat from Coast Guard Station Oregon Inlet and an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter launched from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City in Elizabeth City, N.C.

The MLB crew arrived on scene, transferred the man aboard and placed him into a stokes litter.  The Jayhawk crew hoisted the man in the stokes litter from the MLB and took him to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk.
