Though it’s been seven years, the pain of losing his teenage daughter, Shellie, is still fresh for Bill Carson.

Bill adds, “We were hoping that the murderer or murderers would be found by now, convicted, and in jail.”

Shellie’s body was found next to her bike, dumped near a road in the Kings Grant neighborhood in Virginia Beach.

Just hours before, she was seen at a 7-Eleven less than two miles from her home.

Year after year, Bill and his wife tried everything to get the word out about their daughter’s murder.

Sadly, Bill will have to take on this fight himself. His wife of 29 years passed away a couple of months ago.

Bill adds, “She never got a chance to see the suspect prosecuted."

But with help from the community, Bill says he has the strength to keep fighting.

Last summer, a group of girls who didn’t even know Shellie pitched in to rent a billboard and get the word out about her murder.

Two years ago, the Hampton Roads Regional Crime Line created a deck of unsolved cases in Hampton Roads, Shellie was the Ace of Diamonds.

Bill says that’s what makes him hopeful, he’ll eventually get the answers he’s been waiting for.
