Virginia Beach, Va. – A former Virginia Beach police officer will spend the next ten years in prison for sexually assaulting an underage girl.
46-year-old Michael Alan Childres pleaded guilty on April 30 to five counts of Aggravated Sexual Battery and indecent Liberties-Custodial.
He was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Frederick B. Lowe today to a total of 30 years in prison, with 20 suspended, leaving him 10 years to serve.
The assaults took place on numerous occasions between 2008 and 2011.
During that time Childres worked in the Services division of the Virginia Beach Police Department .
