New weight restrictions have been issued for the Indian Creek Bridge located in Chesapeake.
According to Chesapeake city officials, recent inspection results for the Indian Creek Bridge (1300 block of Indian Creek Road) have led to a required weight restriction for the structure.
The single unit vehicle limit will be 14 tons and the truck and semi vehicle limit will be 20 tons.
Necessary repairs needed in order to lift the restrictions are currently being made, and will be completed as soon as possible, officials say.
Until further notice, the city says vehicles that exceed the posted weight limits should follow the truck detour route – Sanderson Road.
