On Wednesday, police say someone on safety patrol noticed a utility pole was down on I-664 at the Bowers Hill exchange when they saw a black Ford Explorer in the embankment.
After an investigation, police say sometime last night or early this morning, a 2003 Ford Explorer ran off the road to the right, struck a utility pole and landed 75 feet down in the embankment, ejecting and killing the driver.
Officials have not determined if the accident was weather related.
