Nags Head, North Carolina– Officials say a 46-year-old man from Exton, Pennsylvania died while swimming in the ocean off Nags Head.
The victim, Robert Forrest, was reported missing by his family members at about 11:45 this morning while swimming in the ocean in the 5200 block of S. Virginia Dare Trail.
Crews, including Air support from Dare County Emergency Medical Services and the United States Coast Guard, searched for the man.
At about 2:30 p.m., Forrest was pulled from the ocean near Danube Street, in the 4400 block of S. Virginia Dare Trail.
He was then transported to The Outer Banks Hospital where he was declared dead.
Officials have not determined if drowning was the primary cause of his death.
