The Joint Base Langley-Eustis Job Fair at the Fort Eustis Club will be held on September 20, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
That’s located at 2123 Pershing Avenue.
A joint committee composed of the Army Career and Alumni Program, Army Community Readiness Program, and the Virginia Employment Commission, is sponsoring the event.
Officials say more than 40 employers will be participating in the job fair.Employers attending will include Newport News Shipbuilding, EPES Transportation Systems, Earl Industries, Department of Justice, Orion International, Oceaneering International, Dominion, CSX Railroad, Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Fedex Ground, Tapestry Solutions, ZelTechnologies, FBI and more.
It is the objective of the committee to foster employment opportunities for all to include Active Duty, Retired, Reservist, National Guard, Civilian Employees, and Military Spouses. With Virginia unemployment rate at 6 percent and the national unemployment rate at 8.2, and among veterans it’s even higher, the organization says the goal is to provide military veterans, who have served their country with distinction, and their family members with the means to find meaningful employment.
Job fair attendees should come dressed for success and should have several copies of their resumes. Minor children are not allowed.
To enter Fort Eustis, those with DOD identification may proceed through Gate 1 and present their identification. However, those without DOD identification must process through the visitor line to the right to obtain a pass. Driver’s license, valid vehicle registration, safety inspection, and proof of insurance are required to obtain a pass.
All vehicles are subject to inspection. Passengers are required to present a pictured identification.
