Norfolk police say they have charged a man in connection to a 2006 homicide.
They say on September 25, 2006 at approximately 12:30 a.m. officers, responded to a reported murder in the 700 Blk. of Norchester St.
When crews arrived, they found Meek Morgan-Bracy. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say that Morgan-Bracy had been involved in an altercation with two people shortly before his death.
Both suspects were identified by a witness who later recanted his previous statements which resulted in the dismissal of all charges.
Cold Case Investigators reviewed the case and developed new leads.
A suspect was identified during their investigation based on forensic evidence.
Police have now charged Derek Lamont White, who had already been arrested on an unrelated robbery charge and was in the Norfolk City Jail at the time he was formally charged with Murder, Robbery, and 2 counts of Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.
