A house fire in Virginia Beach is now under control, officials say. On Monday afternoon, Virginia Beach fire crews responded to the 1900 block of Decathlon Drive in Lake Placid. The fire was under control around 1:30 p.m., however, a family pet did not survive.
According to Battalion Chief Tim Riley with the Virginia Beach Fire Department, the house suffered heavy damage.
Officials have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
