Update: Man shot outside of Newport News house party dies from wounds

Newport News, Va. – A man shot outside of a Newport News house party early Sunday morning has died from his wounds.

Police say when they arrived at the scene of the shooting in the 1200 block of 25th street around 2:30 am the found a 27-year-old Norfolk man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.

The man died from his injuries at Riverside Regional Medical Center this morning and his name is withheld pending notification of next of kin. 

Police say the incident began when the man got into an argument with one or more guests at the house party and the argument escalated and moved outside the residence where the shooting took place.

He has now been identified as 27-year-old Reginald Turner of the 6000 block of Wellington Ave. in Norfolk.

There is no suspect information at this point in the investigation.
